Triple Dutch racing champion Niki Terpstra and his wife Ramona tied the knot this week. They recently also decided to tackle the somewhat cold interior of their new house, starting with brand new ‘Imperio’ parquet flooring. “We dreamt of a cosy interior. The warm feel of real wood gives our rooms the soft character we were looking for,” Niki Terpstra says. Let’s take a look inside!
Niki Terpstra and his wife Ramona initially chose a sleek interior for their newly built home. “After a while, the interior felt too cold,” Niki says. “We preferred a more cosy, countryside style, and the warmth of parquet flooring was the best place to start. A visit to the Quick-Step showroom also taught me that parquet and underfloor heating go together perfectly.”
The Imperio nougat oak oiled parquet floorappealed to the couple immediately. Niki: “The big knots and cracks and weathered traditional appearance create the perfect atmosphere. The wide, long boards create depth and an extra sense of space in our living room, and radiate class and quality.”
“We were convinced by the soft colour and the combination of character oak and white patina. The tranquillity our new interior exudes is exactly what we were looking for,” Ramona adds. “We also like that the floor is so easy to maintain. That is exactly what you need with a cyclist, two children and a dog at home!”
Niki is not only impressed by the look of the new floor: “I was shocked to see how quickly the parquet was installed. Thanks to the Uniclic Multifit system, the installer laid the entire ground floor in one day and completed the first floor the following day. Our house suddenly looked completely different.”
THE ENTIRE HOME
With the floor as a new foundation, the couple also decided to tackle the rest of their interior. The authentic look was extended to a new sofa, a sturdy table, rattan dining chairs and teak bar stools in the kitchen. “It looks like a completely different house, so much lighter and in a countryside style!” Ramona concludes with great satisfaction.
